THERAPY: AN EXCITING PROFESSION
The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) (www.aota.org ) defines occupational therapy as the “skilled treatment that helps individuals achieve independence in all facets of their lives. Occupational therapy assists people in developing the ‘skills for the job of living’ necessary for independent and satisfying lives.”
Occupational therapy is a health care profession which uses a variety of skilled methods, including daily life tasks like dressing and eating, activities, exercises, and adaptive equipment to help people engage in human occupation, which means to participate in everyday activities that are meaningful to their lives.
