Brickellia grandiflora has large coarsely dentate triangular leaves They are acuminate at the apex. The flowerheads are mostly nodding and each is 20-40 flowered. There are acuminate calyculate bracts that differentiate it from Brickelliastrum fendleri which has none. The flowers Brickellia grandiflora are cream to yellow and the achenes have short bristles.
