Croton texensis is a larger plant than Croton dioicus. It can grow to several feet tall and is usually
unbranched at the base, much branched toward the crown. The main stem is commonly brown or yellow, and the tops of
the leaves are deep green. Croton texensis is a dioecious (different male and female plants) annual, often
found at low to middle elevations in canyons and sandy creekbeds.
