Synonyms:
Equisetum kansanum Schaffner

Equisetum laevigatum is similar to Equisetum hyemale subsp. affine. The leaf sheaths have only one dark band. Equisetum laevigatum is also usually shorter when mature than Equisetum hyemale subsp. affine.
