Synonyms:
None

Ipomoea gilana has heart-shaped (cordate) leaves, a large funnel-shaped purple corolla, and pubescent (hairy) sepals. It is a perennial herb from from an underground tuber. Ipomoea gilana is found on rocky slopes at middle elevation.
