Linum usitatissimum Linnaeus
(No common name)

Family: Linaceae

Status: Exotic

Synonyms:

Linum usitatissimum is an exotic flax with linear instead of capitate stigmas. The inner sepals are ciliate. Linum usitatissimum is found in disturbed areas at lower elevation in the Gila. This particular plant was in beautiful bloom with bright blue flowers in the afternoon, but when I came back to photograph it just a couple of hours later, the flowers had already all closed.
