Primula standleyana is the beautiful White Shooting Star that has been until recently in the genus Dodecatheon and that is now nested within Primula. Primula standleyana has white, reflexed petals and stamens that are exerted with the anthers forming a magenta cone with the stigma protruding a bit beyond it. There are usually 2 shallowly toothed basal leaves and a bare scape with one flower at the top. Primula standleyana is found on moist shaded hillsides that get some direct sunlight.
