Ribes cereum is found at middle to upper elevations, as are all the Grossulariaceae. The palmately divided leaves
are serrulate. The flowers are cream to white and the corolla is long and tubular. The older growth branches are gray, the newer ones are reddish. The fruit is a bright red berry.
