(Black Nightshade)

Synonyms:
Solanum americanum Miller
Solanum interius Rydberg
Solanum ptychanthum Dunal

Solanum nigrum is a branched annual with sinuate, simple leaves. The corolla is white and the mature berries are black. It is found at lower and middle elevations on the roadside and dry disturbed areas.
