Veronica catenata Pennell
(Speedwell)

Family: Plantaginaceae, formerly Scrophulariaceae

Status: Native

Synonyms:
Veronica connata Rafinesque subsp. glaberrima Pennell
Veronica micromera Wooton & Standley

Veronica catenata hybridizes with V. anagallis-aquatica and they are hard to distinguish from one another. The leaves of V. catenata are more than 3 times long as wide and are indistinctly serrulate compared to V. anagallis-aquatica. The flowers of V. catenata are quite small, only 3-5mm wide. All our Veronicas are found at streamside at middle elevations.
