Undergraduate Programs Elementary Education
Serena Murillo corrects papers in her practice teaching semester. This portfolio-based program provides extensive field experience to enhance classroom learning, and guides pre-service students to performance outcomes in:
Professors with public school experience teach courses that maximize opportunities for student thinking and achievement. Professors closely monitor student progress while utilizing multiple ways of assessing student work. Methods courses focus on the individual and developmental needs of children and tackle such issues as exceptional students and students with disabilities. Integration of technology in classroom instruction is addressed throughout the program. Students who complete the program successfully are qualified for a K-8 elementary education license in the State of New Mexico. Elementary Education is also offered as part of a double major.
