A 21st century program provides extensive field experience to enhance classroom learning, and guides pre-service students to performance outcomes in:
Professors with public school experience teach courses that maximize opportunities for student thinking and achievement.
Professors closely monitor teaching candidate's progress while utilizing multiple ways of assessing student work.
Methods courses focus on the individual and developmental needs of children and include integration of technology in classroom instruction is addressed throughout the program.
Students who complete the program successfully are qualified for a 7-12 secondary education license in the State of New Mexico.
Secondary Education is also offered as part of a double major in mathematics and science.
