Border issues topic of author talk at Light Hall

Author and journalist Todd Miller will give a lecture on border issues at Light Hall Theater on Thursday, December 1.

Free to the public, the lecture begins at 6:00 p.m. and will focus current border issues, including the author’s research on the growing US involvement in border security projects across the globe.

Miller has been researching the US-Mexico border for more than 15 years, currently as an independent journalist and writer. His work has appeared in the New York Times, The Nation and Al Jazeera English among other publications. Miller is a contributing editor on border and immigration issues for NACLA Report on the Americas and its column Border Wars.

In 2014, Miller published his first book Border Patrol Nation: Dispatches from the Front Lines of Homeland Security. Miller’s second book Storming the Wall: Climate Change, Migration and Homeland Security will be published in 2017.
