The WNMU Department of Expressive Arts and the Mimbres Region Arts Council invite you to their next Artist Lecture Series event: Victoria Chick
Victoria Chick attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS where John Bashor, Chairman of the Art Dept., introduced her to drawing from the model and, in particular, gesture drawing, beginning a life-long interest in expressing movement. The paintings at the Birger Sandzen Memorial Art Gallery, also located in Lindsborg, were an eye opening experience in color. Chick received her B.A. in Art from the Universityof Missouri at Kansas City where muralist Eric Bransby was her most influential studio professor. Her interest in Art History also developed at this time. She was awarded an M.F.A. in Painting from Kent State University in Ohio.
