Western New Mexico University is inviting community members to a public forum to discuss the ongoing facilities master plan. The forum will take place on Wednesday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m. in the Global Resource Center auditorium.

The plan outlays what the main campus will look like through the next decade. Community members will have the opportunity to provide input on the proposed plans to include renovations of outdoor space, parking lots, walkways and buildings.

The facilities plan includes a focus on greater use of outdoor community spaces that will encourage more walkways and cycling paths on campus.

For more information, contact Stan Pena, Director of Facilities and Maintenance, at 575.538.6715 or

Please fix the crumbling wall outside of the College of Education. This will greatly improve the appearance of the block. I would also suggest a iron fence by the backdoor of the PE Complex. Thanks.

Thank you for your comment. We are forwarding this to Stan Pena for his review prior to the Wednesday meeting.

Given the demand for lap swim, the lanes should take up an entire indoor pool. Plus, the dressing rooms have always had roaches which aren’t evident at the community pool.
