ABOUT the Artist
Paul Hotvedt’s landscapes and figurative works represent a mini-retrospective of the artist’s work from the past five years. Some sixty paintings document travels in Oregon, Wisconsin, Kansas, and New Mexico. Several large canvasses portray the ceaseless movement of water on the rocky Oregon Pacific coast and the more tranquil streams of New Mexico.

Many of the smaller pieces were done plein air. Portraits of koi are featured both in oil paintings and in digital prints produced by Lumiere Editions of Silver City. Hotvedt was raised in Wisconsin where he studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his Masters degree in painting in 1980. Visit the Artist’s website.
