ABOUT THE ARTIST
“Art trains your mind to be open to different solutions and to try new things,” says Dr. Jerri Bartholomew.

Her whole life Bartholomew has been fascinated with both science and art. Jerri is a research scientist and glass artist, and sometimes these worlds collide. She is a professor and the head of the Department of Microbiology at Oregon State University, as well as an Emile F. Pernot Distinguished Professor. For the past 20 years she has experimented with collages in glass, combining photographic screen printing with more free-form imagery and using a variety of fusing and coldworking techniques. Her color palette is simple, with black and white photographs central. Read more.
