Synonyms:
Aquilegia leptocera Nuttall var. flava Gray

Aquilegia chrysantha has lobed leaves that look similar to Thalictrum, but usually larger. Aquilegia chrysantha has large flowers with showy yellow petals and yellow spurs that make it unmistakable when in flower. Aquilegia chrysantha prefers moist hillsides or moist slopes adjacent to flowing water at middle to upper elevations.
