Barbilophozia hatcheri (A. Evans) Loeske

Family: Lophoziaceae

Status: Native

Synonyms:
Lophozia hatcheri (Evans) Steph.

Barbilophozia hatcheri is a liverwort with densely packed, succubous leaves that have 3-4 unequal lobes. Many of the leaf tips have 1-3 celled apiculi. The leaf bases have 1-3 multicellular filaments. There are underleaves that are hidden in rhizoids. Reddish brown gemmae are present in clusters at shoot tips and leaf margins. The gemmae are angular and unicellular. Barbilophozia hatcheri is found at upper elevation in subalpine areas.
