Chamberlainia cyrtophylla (Kindb.) Grout
Brachythecium acuminatum is a smaller Brachythecium serrulate only at the leaf apices and with the costa ending below the apex. The leaves are usually strongly plicate. Brachythecium acuminatum is found at middle to upper elevation in Ponderosa forest.
