Cryptantha crassisepala var. elachantha is an annual herb with a minute corolla that is less than 2mm wide. One of the nutlets
is much taller than the others and exceeds the style in length. It is not winged. The leaves are oblanceolate. There are no bracts underneath the flowers. Cryptantha crassisepala var. elachantha is found in sandy soils along streambeds but also in town and waste ground.
