Desmodium neomexicanum has small pink flowers and trifoliolate leaves with leaflets that are quite a bit broader
than those of D. rosei. The fruit is a loment, a pod whose cells separate from each other along lines perpendicular to
the axis of the pod. Desmodium neomexicanum is found at lower elevation in the Gila.
