Eleocharis acicularis is a perennial Spikerush that is diminutive and appears to be an annual until the delicate rhizomes are dissected. Perianth bristles can be present or absent. The leaf sheath does not have an distinct tooth. Like most Spikerushes, Eleocharis acicularis is found in or near standing water.
