Orthotrichum sp. Author awaits species ID

Family: Orthotrichaceae

Status: Native

Synonyms:
None

This Orthotrichum is most distinctive in having a calyptra that is 3/4 the length of the capsule. The calyptra is ribbed and the ribs have hairs on them. The leaves are lanceolate with quadrate, papillose cells distaly and rectangular cells on alae. The distal leaf is one cell thick. This specimen was found high on a dry streamside rock. Thanks to Dr. Allred for all his help on this moss!
