Potentilla gracilis var. pulcherrima is a perennial herb recognized by the digitately divided leaves with usually five leaflets that are green on the upper surface and grayish below. The leaflets are toothed or notched but not deeply divided to the midrib. The flowering stem is upright and over 20cm tall. The flower is bright yellow. Potentilla gracilis var. pulcherrima is found in openings in the mixed conifer forest at upper elevation.
