Ranunculus testiculatus Crantz
(Bur Buttercup)

Family: Ranunculaceae

Status: Exotic

Synonyms:
None

Ranunculus testiculatus is a low growing exotic buttercup with highly dissected leaves. The yellow flower fades to white. The most characteristic feature is the bur-like persistent fruit. The herbage is hairy. Note: the plants pictured here are not hairy and were not yet in fruit. The identification of this specimen as R. testiculatus must still be considered tentative although it otherwise seems to fit the description. If you are familiar with Ranunculus and can help with the ID of this specimen, please email to sparks@zianet.com.
