Riccia albolimbata is a small xeromorphic liverwort. The scales of the thallus are encrusted with calcium giving the plant a chalkly white appearance. If the plant is wet for a period of time, the calcium comes off and the thallus becomes grayish or green. This specimen was collected by R. Worthington and the ID of a duplicate specimen was made by Norton Miller. Please click on an image for a larger file.
