Registration Open: Spanish for Healthcare Professionals

Western New Mexico University designed a Spanish for Healthcare Professionals course upon special request and is offering it in spring 2023. The goal of the class is to have each student become compliant with the Spanish language to function better at the bedside with Spanish-speaking patients. The three credit-hour class is geared specifically for those entering or already practicing in the medical field. Those who already hold bachelor’s degrees may take it as a workshop and should apply to WNMU as non-degree seeking students.) Students may also take the class more than once. Help for the Helpers: Unlocking Resilience in 2022 20th Annual Family Counseling Center’s Virtual Conference November 18, 2022 Right now there are currently five play therapy practices listed on the SAMHSA evidence-based practice list. These approaches have distinct qualities and can appear different. However, play therapists can benefit from seeing the common therapeutic factors present in all of these practices. By being able to identify these universal tenets, play therapists can keep themselves grounded while working with complex cases. Returning to these tenets can aid in therapist self-care. Play therapists will also feel confident supporting parents and teachers by giving them ways of introducing these important tenets into the home and classroom environments.
