Local nonprofit Heart of the Gila is leading a hike for students on Saturday, October 22. The outing, described as a beautiful, colorful, off-trail hike, is from up high down into Cherry Creek and back for sunset. Though the route covers a short distance, attendees should expect some boulder and stream crossings for a moderately strenuous hike.
The hike leaves from campus at 3 p.m., and a carpool is available. Hot chocolate and trail snacks will be provided. The hike leader is Heart of the Gila staff member and WNMU student Elysha, who can be reached with questions at 575-590-7575.
