The 3rd Annual WNMU Inspire Conference is set for Friday, July 23, at 1 p.m. in Light Hall Theater.

Beginning at 4:30 p.m., attendees can enjoy food, refreshments, and fun together. Our Staff Senate has worked hard to provide quality programming and training for this in-person event.

Hidalgo Medical Services Chief Executive Officer, Dan Otero, reaches out in pursuit of personal and professional excellence through Life-Long Learning.
1:45-2:00 Bathroom Break
2:00-2:45 Student Presenters
Hear from WNMU students on their student journeys, overcoming obstacles, facing barriers, and future plans.

Laruni Witty – Hall of fame recipient
Facing personal obstacles, along with the challenges of being a college student and student athlete.

Jaedyn Arellano – Assistant of Student Accessibility Services
Importance of mental health and the impact of COVID-19. How mental health affected aspects including academics, relationships, and overall health. What resources are available and how to reach out.

Richard Mubanga – President of Student Government (ASWNMU)
The journey of an international student, obstacles faced, and the transformation while attending WNMU.

2:45-3:15 Success for Veteran Students
Veterans Affairs Manager, Jason Quimby, presents on What it means to be a Veteran. Topics in this presentation include Characteristics of a Veteran, New Class-Same Scars, Identifying triggers, Adapting to their needs, and available resources.
3:15-3:30 Bathroom Break
3:30-4:00 COVID-19 Data and Students
Marketing Director Mario Sanchez shares data collected from students during the COVID-19 pandemic to guide us in enhancing the student experience.
4:00-4:30 Professional Development and the Student Experience
Bobbi Dodson will be givng a presentation on the professional development department and the focus this coming year on customer service/enhancing the customer experience and some of the programs available through skills training.
4:30 BBQ
