Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra Present Dmitri Ratser. Orchestra conductor and Music Director Lonnie Klein is a recipient of the Centennial 2012 Governor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts. From his inaugural concert with the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra at New Mexico State University in October 1999, Klein has led the orchestra to new heights boasting 11 consecutive sold-out seasons. Joseph Schwantner, noted American composer, said of Klein, “Lonnie’s industry and energy knows no bounds …”
Dmitri Ratser was born in Moscow into a family of professional musicians, whereby his own musical talents were early recognized. Mr. Ratser has performed with orchestras in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Korea, Finland, Spain, Austria and Germany.
