Learn About Public Lands Volunteering with Dr. Kathy Whiteman of Western New Mexico University on Saturday, April 10, noon – 1 p.m.

With hope that we’ll soon be leaving “no trace” of the pandemic, join Dr. Kathy Whiteman in discussing your renewed (or perhaps, new) alliance with nature! Learn more about the Leave No Trace philosophy, Wilderness First Aid training options, ways the WNMU Outdoor Program has continued to connect students with the outdoors during the pandemic, and opportunities we have to protect our natural resources and engage in public lands volunteering.

Kathy Whiteman, PhD., is Chair for the Western New Mexico University Department of Natural Sciences and Director of the WNMU Center for a Sustainable Future and Outdoor Programs. She is an experienced Western Institute for Lifelong Learning presenter and still remembered and respected for her work with the former Gila Conservation Education Center.
