Southwest Word Fiesta takes place October 19-24 with over 20 events featuring 40 authors. Most sessions are virtual and everything is free and open to the public. Audience members need to register at swwordfiesta.org, where they’ll also find the full schedule.

As the major sponsor, WNMU is hosting several of the face-to-face events taking place on campus. All except the first will also be live streamed over Zoom.

Oct. 19, 6:30-9 p.m.: Screening of “Words from a Bear” documentary about writer N. Scott Momaday in Light Hall Theater.
Oct. 20, 4-6:30 p.m.: “Hillerman Day” with Anne Hillerman and James McGrath Morris (Tony Hillerman’s biographer) in Miller Library.
Oct. 21, 6-8 p.m.: Book launch–Jack Crocker in conversation with JJ Amaworo Wilson at Light Hall Auditorium.
Oct. 22, 5-6 p.m.: Fiction forum with Catalina Claussen, Phillip Parotti and Peter Riva in Miller Library.
Oct. 23, 2:30-3:30 p.m.: Banned Books readings/presentations by WNMU students in Miller Library.
