Summit Sunday & Healthy Mustangs: Bear Mountain

Join the Outdoor Program as we partner with Healthy Mustangs to offer a day hike up Bear Mountain!

WHEN: March 5th 10:00AM

COST: Free to Students and Faculty

Pre-trip Meeting (required): Sunday, March 5th at 9:55 a.m. in The Outpost (Bernard Hall).

Registration will open February 24th and is limited to 10.

NOTE: Bear Mountain sits an elevation of 8,019 feet. The route is an out and back; round trip is roughly 2.4 miles with 1,000 feet of elevation gain. Short but steep! There may be snow and ice on the route.

Wear appropriate attire and footwear for this experience.
Hiking boot or study shoe with and solid sole that can grip on loose uneven wet terrain
Layers: base layers should be wicking (not cotton ideally), then an insulated layer (fleece or puffy) and shell layer that can block wind/rain
Backpack
Minimum 1 liter of water (2 is better)
Snacks you may want
Appropriate health items (epi pens, inhalers, medications)
Sunglasses and sunscreen
Other items that you choose to bring for your enjoyment (no guns, drugs, alcohol, Bluetooth speakers, or other silliness)
PMA (positive mental attitude)
