Acleisanthes chenopodioides is a grayish appearing erect but short perennial. It has pink purple flowers, the free portion about 4mm long. There are usually two stamens. The fruit is about 5mm long and is more distinctive, having five veinless wings. The fruit is an "anthocarp," a fruit that has some part of the flower that remains attached. Acleisanthes chenopodioides is found in rocky soil at lower elevation.
