Acmispon neomexicanus is a prostrate perennial that can at times form a groundcover in open dry soil and
middle elevation. Acmispon brachycarpus is more densely hairy, and the pods of Acmispon brachycarpus are less than
a centimeter long. A. wrightii and A. americanus, our other common members of the genus, are upright.
