Acmispon wrightii (A. Gray) Brouillet
(Red and Yellow Pea, Deervetch, Wright's Trefoil)
Family: Fabaceae
Status: Native
Synonyms:
Lotus wrightii (A. Gray) Greene
Anisolotus wrightii (A. Gray) Rydberg
Acmispon wrightii is easily recognized by its upright growth habit and red and yellow flowers. It is
a perennial with sessile, pubescent leaves that are palmately divided in to four to seven leaflets. Acmispon wrightii is found in dry areas in lower to middle elevation. There appears to be a lot of intergrading between A. wrightii and A. plebeius in
our area especially with regards to pedicel length. It may be difficult at times to differentiate these two species with certainty.
