Anomobryum julaceum (Schrad. ex G. Gaertn., B. Mey. & Scherb.) Schimp.
Family: Bryaceae
Status: Native
Synonyms:
Bryum julaceum Schrad. ex G. Gaertn., B. Mey. & Scherb.
Anomobryum julaceum is even more julaceous than Anomobryum concinnatum. The costa of Anomobryum julaceum
reaches about 80% of the leaf length rather than being percurrent or excurrent as in Anomobryum concinnatum. There
are no bulbils present in this species. The leaves are very concave in both species and many leaves are split when viewed as
a wet mount under a cover slip.
Many thanks to the New York Botanical Garden and Laura Briscoe for loaning us this specimen (NYBG barcode #00598783) for photography.
