Blepharostoma trichophyllum is a very small liverwort that often grows intermixed with other bryophytes. The leaves are transversely inserted, deeply divided into four lobes that are uniseriate (hairlike). Underleaves are similar to the leaves but slightly smaller. Rhizoids are few. B. trichophyllum grows on bark or rock at higher elevation in a moist habitat. Please click on an image for a larger file.
