Family: Brachytheciaceae
Status: Native
Synonyms:
Brachythecium digastrum Müll. Hal. ex Kindberg

Brachythecium laetum is a pleurocarpous moss that is quite similar to Brachythecium salebrosum. The basal laminal cells of Brachythecium laetum are opaque in about three rows and thus markedly different from the more distal cells. Brachythecium laetum has toothed margins and is very plicate, both characters of Brachythecium salebrosum as well. Brachythecium laetum is found among rocks at upper elevations.
