Calibrachoa parviflora (Jussieu) D'Arcy
(Seaside Petunia)

Family: Solanaceae

Status: Exotic

Synonyms:
Petunia parviflora Jussieu

Calibrachoa parviflora looks like a miniature petunia, with a purple corolla. The corolla tube is white. The small leaves are oval to oblong and thickened. It is a prostrate annual that grows along creeks and streamsides at lower elevations. The fruit is a pointed egg-shaped capsule with a septum dividing two chambers and containing many tuberculate seeds. Many thanks to Bob Sivinski for help correctly identifying this plant.
