Candelaria concolor (Dicks.) Stein.
Candleflame Lichen
Candelaria concolor is a foliose lichen usually found on trees, but we found it at Sycamore creek on welded gravel push on the cliff next to the creek. It is bright yellow and very small, with thallous lobes that are a fraction of a millimeter wide. There were no apothecia, but the lobes usually end in a profusion of soredia.
