Mexican Yolk Lichen
Candelina submexicana is a rather small, rosette forming egg-yolk colored lichen that lives on rock in the Gila. The lobules formed are quite small. The discs of the small apothecia are about the same color as the raised margins. The photobiont is unicellular and green, and the medulla is white.
