Synonyms:
Cologania longifolia Gray

Cologania angustifolia is a trifoliate twining herb with long leaf segments. The petals are purple and the calyx has four lobes-- 2 of the 5 calyx lobes are fused. The pod is appressed hairy. Cologania angustifolia is found at upper elevation. When juvenile, the long leaf segments are broader and more triangular.
