Family: Rhabdoweisiaceae, formerly Dicranaceae

Status: Native

Synonyms:
Cynodontium polycarpon var. tenellum Schimp.
Oncophorus polycarpos subsp. tenellus (Schimp.) Kindb.
Oncophorus tenellus (Schimp.) R.S. Williams

Cynodontium tenellum has a narrow costa, one-stratose alar cells and is crisped when dry. The capsule is distinctly ribbed. The leaf margins are 2-stratose distally. The distal cells appear somewhat mammillose, but it is not distinct on cross section.
