Dicranum scoparium Hedwig

Dicranum latifolium J.J. Amann

Dicranum scoparium has long, falcate leaves that are strongly toothed distally. Unlike Paraleucobryum sauteri , the costa is narrow. The distal cells are elongate and pitted. The costa of D. scoparium is strongly ribbed. D. scoparium has curved capsules. We found D. scoparium at higher elevation on the Middle Fork Trail near Red River, NM.
