Echinocereus coccineus is a beautiful scarlet cactus that can be seen in clusters several feet
across. The bright green stigma stands out against the scarlet petals. This cactus can also grow
in shallow depressions in rocks or out of cracks in a cliff face. Echinocereus triglochidiatus is
very similar but usually a bit larger.
