Echinochloa colona (Linnaeus) Link

Synonyms:
Panicum colonum Linnaeus
Echinochloa colona is an exotic grass that looks similar to Echinochloa crus-galli, Barnyard grass. However, Echinochloa colona has simple panicle branches and the hairs on the herbage are not bulbous based. The palea of the lower floret is well developed. Echinochloa colona sometimes has purple stripes on the leaf blades.
