Ericameria nauseosa is a shrub that is widespread at lower elevations in the Gila National Forest. It is much branched from the base. The whitish younger branches are tomentose and flexuous and have linear leaves that are either dark gray or green depending on variety. The discoid flowers (just a few per flowerhead) are yellow and appear in late summer. The pappus (reduced calyx) is made up of capillary bristles.
