Erigeron formosissimus var. formosissimus is a perennial upper elevation broad leaved herb from a thick rhizome. The phyllaries are glandular and hairy. The leaves are 1-3 nerved and villous with entire margins. The stems have straight hairs. The stem leaves are gradually reduced. The rays are about 1mm wide and are purplish.
